Yoga Sadhana >>  Kriya Yoga Preparatory Course

Kriya yoga is the most powerful yet simple and practical way for modern day person, who is enmeshed in this world, to awaken kundalini, the dormant serpent power resident inside us. Kriya yoga means ‘the yoga of practice, movement or action’.

The techniques of Kriya Yoga offer a smooth and relatively risk-free means of expanding our awareness and awakening the dormant areas of the brain. Also, this system of Kriya Yoga provides a means whereby we do not have to tackle the mind directly. Its practices are based on Hatha Yoga, which aims at controlling the Prana. Mind and prana interact with each other and hence, by controlling the prana, we can gain control of the mind.

The aim of the Kriya Yoga Preparatory course is to prepare students for the Kriya Yoga course at Munger. It is a 6 months’ course and is open to all students who have completed the one month beginner’s course. The course will expose the students to a specific set of asanas, pranayamas, mudras and bandhas and awareness of chakras. Regular sadhana of the techniques taught in this course for 6 months prepares a student for the 8 day Kriya Yoga course offered in Munger in Sep/ Oct 2009.

All disciples who have enrolled for the Kriya Yoga preparatory course should attend the Advanced Pranayama course, which is an integral part of the Kriya Yoga preparatory practices.

Kriya Yoga Preparatory Classes are conducted on Sundays only, from 5:30 AM to 7:00 AM. If any of the students of Satyananda Yoga Centre Mambalam is interested in registering for this course, please contact the Secretary, Satyananda Yoga Centre, Mambalam.
